Requip (ropinirol) is until recently sold as filmcoated tablets 0,25 mg, 0,5 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, and 5 mg, which should be dosed 3 times a day.

Ropinirol is now available as extended release tablets, which are sold as 2 mg, 4 mg, and 8 mg. It should be dosed 1 time a day.

It could improve compliance to use extended release drugs.

There is not made any comparative studies betwen the dopamine agonists. The results from a comparative study between Requip and Requip Depot showed that Requip Depot were non-inferior to Requip film coated tablets.
