Nevanac (nepafenac)
Nevanac (nepafenac) eyedrops is an NSAID drug, approved for prevention and treatment of pain and inflammation in connection with operation of cataract.
Nepafenac har been compared with ketorolac and placebo. Nepafenac is significantly better than placebo, evaluated at the inflammation parameters, pain, and no serious adverse effects.
Nepafenac present on the other hand no certain advantages compared to ketorolac eyedrops, which is 12 Dkr. cheaper per bottle.
IFR states that routine treatment with Nevanac is therefore not recommended.
Nevanac was marketed the 22nd of September 2008.
