Euthyrox (levothyroxin)

Euthyrox is a new levothyroxine drug that can be regarded as therapeutically equivalent to Eltroxin. The drugs are not classified as generic medicine, though. The price of Euthyrox is comparable with the price of Eltroxin, which is why one or the other can be chosen freely. Euthyrox, however, has a score line (delekærv), which is an advantage in patients that are on dosages lower than 25 µg.

Euthyrox was marketed on December 28th, 2009. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to apply for a dispensing permission.
