Angemin (estradiol and drospirenone)

Angemin is a new medicinal product for treatment of symptoms of estrogen deficiency. Angemin contains 1 mg estradiol and 2 mg drospirenone in continuous combination.

Unfortunately, Angemin has not been compared to Activelle, which is frequently used in Denmark. Nevertheless, effects and adverse side effects seem to be in line with other regimes of this type. Angemin is considerably more expensive than treatment alternatives and is not entitled to a general reimbursement.

Angemin should only be used by women, who cannot be treated in other ways.

Angemin was marketed September 13th 2004.
